Park Čair is located at the very centre of the city of Niš, occupying an area of 16.4 hectares. The entire Čair complex is composed of two parts; one part is covered in grass, while the other includes sports and recreational contents (ice-skating arena, inside and outside pools, football fields, a fitness centre). Due to its bountiful vegetation and lush greenery, the Turks named it “Čair” which would translate to ‘garden.’ The specificity of this park is contributed to by not only its impressive size but also its authentic vegetation of poplar, Lombardy poplar and plane trees. Next to the park itself there are a large number of cafés in which many citizens of Niš enjoy their afternoon coffee, while in the evenings this part of the street turns into a zone of good fun. In the last few years, this part of the street has been named “Silicone Valley”, and it is up to you to find out why.
