The project “Development of General Achievement Standards for Serbian as a Second Language for the End of the First, Second and Third Cycles of Education” is realised by the Centre for Serbian as a foreign and second language in cooperation with the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation, with the financial support by the Open Society Foundation from Belgrade.
Namely, this is a second stage of the project, which will be realised in the period from September 2015 to August 2016, whereby the first stage was realised in the period from January to June 2015. In the first stage of the project, the standards for Serbian as a second language were proposed and the questionnaires and assignments for the empirical evaluation of standards were created, which enabled the pre-requisites for the realisation of the examination (testing) of standards on the sample of pupils. The Centre for Serbian as a foreign and second language has the task of conducting the empirical testing of standards in the field which will enable the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation to conduct the final stage of this process, that is, it will help the Work group to define a pre-final version of standards, which will be delivered to the Association for Serbian language and literature of the Republic of Serbia. The final version of the proposal of education standards for Serbian as a second language, prepared after a public discussion, will be sent for approval to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and to the National Education Council.
